Maria Venus Raj Live on the Buzz: Blog Posts and Stories of Raj's Fans Matched with her Statements

 Watch it here

At exactly 4 pm in the afternoon I got home with my family from Tabaco City having gone to a wake of a relative who passed away at the age of 103. I  immediately boot the computer to update some news regarding Maria Venus Raj and her hot issue that everyone is talking about right at these moments.

On the Facebook fan site Petition for Venus Raj to remain as Bb.Pilipinas-Universe 2010 , a fan posted on the wall that Maria Venus Raj will have a live interview on the Buzz this Sunday afternoon. Fans including me rushed to ask what time would Raj appear on the show. Some fans are very resourceful and helpful that they posted links to a television streaming site for others to see it live on their computer screens.

Raj then appeared at around 5 pm in the afternoon. Boy Abunda became the person whom Venus talked to.A vtr served as an introduction to open up the issue and to welcome Maria Venus Raj on the show. The vtr showed Raj being crowned as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 and then dethroned in less than a month. It also showed a number of beauty queens who were then dethroned  specially those who has issues on their nationality and as they say Venus is the latest on the list. The birth certificate of Maria Venus Raj was also on the scene being the main point of her issues. It says that  Venus' father was a catholic Indian national having the name Vincent Raj and married to her mother. It is also said that on the record, Maria Venus Raj was born in Camarines Sur.

The interview was then started. Boy Abunda concentrated on what really is inconsistent. Raj told him that she was really born in Doha, Qatar and raised in the Philippines. This statement had proven her Filipino citizenship. Venus then told that from the start, BPCI knew about this. Regarding her birth certificate, she said that she only had  her birth certificate when she was graduating high school applying for a scholarship in college. It is indeed true that her aunt made the inputs of the record and it was released three years after her birth. When Boy asked her why did not her mother change those things, she answered with tears that her mom is more concentrated on how to let the family survive despite the situation that they have. Truly indeed that changing the inputs of public documents may require an amount that most cannot afford like that of Raj's family. She also said that why did BPCI didn't told her regarding the issue earlier during the screening. Raj also explained that she has no hard feelings with the BPCI  only that she wants to know the deep reason of her dethronement. Until now she said, she is really confused and questioning why is she dethroned easily. Raj had even no hard feelings on her father whom she never met since she was born and to her parents, she is very thankful that she is alive.

Raj said that what really hurts her are the speculations that she was born out of wedlock. I believe, what she means is that this may be the reason why she was dethroned. Abunda asked her if there are any rules that restrict children born out of wedlock from joining the pageant; well of course for God's sake there's no any rule like that. As I see through it another thing that hurts her are the speculations that questions her self regarding honesty. I personally admit that there are really people who are not for Raj and it is true that they mention certain comments on Raj's honesty. Maria Venus Raj will really defend her crown . The interview was closed by Raj having a message for her family and thanking them. However, Raj didn't mention anything about the said  press conference tomorrow Monday.
Some viewers here at home said that she should have lawyers because her case should really be presented before the court. Raj has lawyers who are helping her now."Venus' camp will not take this to court if her lawyers don't see anything working for their advantage. So let's not stop campaigning for Venus, our Bb. Pilipinas-Universe!" this was posted by a fan on the wall of the two fan site. Until now, Venus' supporters keeps growing and growing and by that interview, it is expected that more and more people will support Raj 'til the end.

And Now, it's Stella Araneta's Turn (to have a fan site)

"Madame Stella de Araneta is a Colombian woman who operates the oldest beauty pageant in the Philippines.

Mrs. Araneta is notorious for sabotaging the chances of Filipino beauty queens in various beauty pageants by:

* manipulating the results of Binibining Pilipinas
* dethroning the original winners out of technicalities
*... sending the wrong representative to an international pageant
* allowing the Filipino beauty queens to wear inferior and outdated Colombian designer clothes.

Few more days from now, it's already a week after the dethronement of Maria Venus Raj and it's also a week old for the campaign to bring her back the crown and let her represent the country for the prestigious Miss Universe Pageant. Two fan pages were soaring the web's airwaves and encouraging every Facebook user to join them on their campaign for the crown of Raj.

As the two sites grow, another fan site was just born maybe this morning. When I opened my computer and got access to the internet, a link to the new fan site was posted on Bring back the crown to Maria Venus Raj...'s wall. This fan site now appeals to fire Miss Stella Araneta. The fans of the two sites believes that Araneta is responsible for the dethronement of  Maria Venus Raj being the Bb. Pilipinas -Universe 2010. Maybe, this site was created because fans may no longer fight their feeling of hatred for the said lady. The Facebook fan site is called FIRE MRS. STELLA ARANETA. Just a few hours, from three fans now it has 29 fans as of this time and it expected to have more as the days goes on and on. Maybe, it will grow more if Raj will mention against the BPCI on a said press conference on Monday.

The previous post of this blog shows the note from the site written of course by the administrator. On this note, the administrator shares his side of being indifferent to the party of Maria Venus Raj and to Madam Araneta. As I read it, the writer shares the diplomacy of Araneta and the grandeur of her profession as well. However, it also shown that he is disappointed to the lady because of the issue of Raj's dethronement. He explains on his note that Araneta's diplomacy might lose because of the issues that links to the dethronement of raj such as the negligence of the screening process conducted by the BPCI.

Taking a look on the site's wall, the comments and reactions of the fans are really strong against Araneta. Even the shout out (shown italicized above) may be very offensive on her part Well what can we do? This is what they feel. But is rampant on the site were photos which really speak millions of hatred for Araneta.

 Why Pitoy Moreno?

On the photo above, Trump asked Araneta and Moreno what they had done to Maria Venus Raj and then got Fired. How come that Pitoy Moreno is also included on the hatred of the people for Araneta? This might be because Moreno is part of the BPCI and close to Araneta.  As you can see, they were together in an event maybe a ribbon cutting ceremony on a store opening. His closeness to Araneta  is not of course an enough reason. Fans would've think that Moreno is involved in the dethronement of Raj.

On the discussion board of the fan site, a topic is open. The topic asks its fans to suggest the replacement for Stella Araneta being the Chairperson of the BPCI. One fan suggested that it should be no other than Gloria Diaz ( Miss Universe 1969). Her reason is that Diaz is also a beauty queen. Stella, she says just got only Miss International title and for her it is inferior compared to the Miss Universe title which Diaz got. The fan also suggests Rene Salud. On the her last sentence, she may mean that Filipinos has to choose no other people who is not from the Philippines.

"Why would Stella dethrone Raj because of being half? Why? Is she Filipino? She even doesn't have a Filipino blood? It would be better that the one who will choose the country's representative to the international arena will be from its own people not a foreigner..."

DISAPPOINTED WITH MRS. STELLA ARANETA (From A Fan site)

from the Facebook Fan site:FIRE MRS. STELLA ARANETA!

Dethronement is a very serious process and cannot just happen overnight, apparently with no valid reason. I want to understand but I feel there must be a legal basis for BPCI to pursue such deliberate action. The decision to dethrone VR has been taken after many days of agonizing deliberations, for or against. Let it be known I'm not in defense of BPCI and its cohorts of advisers. But since we were not privy to the internal affairs of its inner sanctum, might as well give the Organization the benefit of the doubt.

My views are mine alone as that of a 3rd party from a distance with no pretensions, bias or prejudice towards what must have transpired in the process. To say that dethronement was taken in response to a public clamor, or in the wake of conspiracies, or due to someone's influence, whim or fancy is utterly disdainful capricious thinking. Note that BPCI is ably supported by a team of legal luminaries, and any decision taken along that line particularly as it sought to dethrone a proclaimed winner in a nationally televised search system must be verifiable and cannot be done in haste.

Ms. Stella Araneta with a man (unknown) Photo from Google.

Mdm Stella de Araneta is a seasoned diplomat, a key officer of the corps diplomatique of her native Colombia to the Philippines and the Pacific Rim nations. Diplomatic protocol forbids that her office involves in the containment of half truths, she cannot deviate from the rules as the appointed National Director of the 3 grand slam pageants in the Philippines. She also cannot remain indifferent to complaints from the public and have to deal with them squarely in a transparent manner. She is guided by the niceties of diplomacy as she represents the interests of her native country in this region of the world.

Madame cannot allow her office nor her staff to be mired in any controversy that might scandalize her diplomatic stature for that matter. If such will happen, the consequences of such despicable acts will have reverberated in the sacrosanct nature of the diplomatic circles. She cannot allow these to happen.

Maybe the blame should be cast to the people who handled and promoted VR candidacy since the very start. They have manipulated her into believing, hence acceptance, she being vulnerable to the lure of national fame and confident in her renewed capabilities to overcome. But Venus cannot pretend not to know if there was indeed fraud when she filed her registration for the annual search.

International competitions like the Ms U have stringent rules to adhere to. And the National Directors from all over the world have a responsibility to abide by those rules. Defrauding the organizers, or ignoring these rules if there is any possibility that truth will resurface in the end is a risk that cannot be allowed. Can the rules be ignored? Nah!. Which is the lesser evil? Dethronement of the titleholder as opposed to the national embarrassment of 90 million Filipinos and the culpable shame of a diplomat’s office if BPCI were found to have condoned or connived with half truths along the way?

If the findings were irreversible and the case established against VR, there’s no other way out but for BPCI to save face, and Madame will have no recourse but to cut loose from any form of worldwide condemnation as it is seen that a clean way out is too remote to find.

Helen Nicolette Henson a fan of Venus Raj's Campaign Site?

As I was checking the Facebook fan page site BRING BACK THE CROWN TO MARIA VENUS RAJ... , I was so surprised seeing the account of Helen Nicolette Henson as one of the fans of the campaign. I quickly clicked it and saw many people commented with a big congratulations for her being the new Bb.Pilipinas-Universe 2010. But then, it doesn't get out through my mind that this account is fake.I remember when I visited the Facebook account of Raj, Nicolette's Facebook account was there shown at the wall having a shout of "tweet tweet". At first I was so suspicious about that shoutout as an insult to our beloved Raj. But then I never had any comments about it, knowing that wall shoutouts are visible on any friends' wall. Another is that Henson's account name is Nikette Henson not her full name. And as I checked on the fan profile of Henson, she posted that the said site was a poser and she even requested her followers to report the said site.and it is also pretty obvious that the account on the fan page is not even a Facebook friend of Raj.
Going back on the fan page of Henson, she has this shoutout that says "It's a borderline between a happy and an aching heart. God bless us all." On this, Henson may feel mixed emotions of happiness and sadness because of what happened to her close friend, Raj. Well of course the site is flooded with comments and messages and not to mention that it has more than 4000 fans. How many fans has Raj? It only has exactly 1910 fans. Well, we have to work hard for it to grow and grow more.
On the two fan pages which campaigns the petition for Raj and mostky on forums from other sites, it is so embarrassing that people get to speak negative words for Henson which is really wrong. We have to prove things first. Let us wait for the news to come specially for the said presscon of Raj on Monday. Rumors says that Raj is opt to tell everything. Oh how I wish...

PS:
We are not here to offend Henson or anyone that we believe who is innocent about this issue. So people please who does not believe in Raj, if you have nothing to say good or let's say if you can't wait for the upcoming blasts to come, then you better tell your opinion in a professional way. Vice Versa for those "anti-Henson."After all, we are all Filipinos,we should be united, and we should be sticking to the truth.

Maria Venus Raj: The Top Story on Print and Web

After the news had been broke on the television and internet, people from all over the country kept on  talking about the dethroned beauty queen Maria Venus Raj. Venus is now one of the country's top issues. After all, it is really that unfair to dethrone her because of the inconsistency on her statements and birth records.

This past few days, if you're into Yahoo!Philippines, Venus Raj is ranked number 1 of the top searches on the said site.  In Google, once you typed the letter "V", automatically the name Venus Raj will be the first suggestion for your search. Aside from these, a very conspicuous place for Raj's issue are the newspapers, tabloids and still online newspapers which people can get access on streets and even at home.

Talking about newspaper, the Gulf times (Qatar's top selling English newspaper) has already the cover about the issue having an article named Philippines pageant winner loses crown. But it seems that they just treat it as a minor one which you can that they even didn't react that their country was one of the contents of the news.  One very insulting term was used by an Australian news site calling the beauty queen as illegitimate. The artcle was named Illegitimate beauty queen Maria Venus Raj loses Miss Philippines title. Maybe they just used this term to tag the dethronement issue. Fans however are very happy that the news  reached overseas. And if your going to search for the name Maria Venus Raj on the sites of our top selling newspapers, you will surely get articles regarding her dethronement.

Raj's supporters are also in the spotlight. The Inquirer has an article on their site about the support for Venus. An article named Friends support dethroned beauty queen shows the comments and reactions by fans from the social networking site Facebook. From the locality of Bicol now in the national arena; The Manila Standard Today has the article Miss Philippines-Universe loses title made the fans and supporters of raj very overwhelmed because they were heard to a higher level.A very fulfilling part of the supporters of Venus was when they were heard in the international scene. Team Venus's fan page was in the France Radio Internationale's article named Philippine entry kicked out of Miss Universe contest. The said site was included  in order to let the public know about the online petition on Facebook. and maybe to promote for Raj's crown.

Newspaper can never defeat blogs. Bloggers who were really up to date and willing to posts became the main source about the issue. Where in these blogs you can view several opinions of people and majority of these people are against the dethronement of the beauty queen. Try to search some blogs, and an assurance of 110% that you will find a story about Venus Raj.

If we are going to think it over, it is really not a good ground to dethrone this beauty queen. According to other bloggers and Facebook users and even others may have observed that during the past Miss Universe pageant contestant's nationality is not a big deal on the competition. There was even this contestant who represented a country but it was really not her native homeland. And if ever honesty is what the BPCI points out against Raj, how come that it came up to this point when in fact Raj is very open about herself specially on her family issues. The government particularly the Human Rights Commission should take intervention regarding this matter. We cannot let our fellow Bicolana, friend, schoolmate and FILIPINO have this kind of karma that she doesn't deserve.

Maria Venus Raj Got Support from Friends

After hearing the news about the dethronement of the 2010 Bb. Pilipinas -Universe Maria Venus Raj many people was been shocked and marked several comments about the issue. “Yesterday, March 29, 2010, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth,”these were the words that made friends and supporters of Raj dismayed and disappointed. After a few minutes of breaking up the news, several social networking sites specially Facebook were flooded by comments, news links and shoutouts by its users.By these things happened, fans of Raj were not yet contented, two top fan page sites were created to support Venus to retain her title. Bring Back the Crown to Maria Venus Raj for Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 gathers more than 600 fans of date is a site where members are mostly kababayans of Raj.Petition for Venus Raj to Reamain as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 is an online petition site wherein fans appeal to retain Raj's title. It already has more than  thousand of fans and so far it is the site where the media from here or abroad is referring whenever readers got to have support for Venus. Both of these sites function to support Raj and appeals to the BPCI to give her back the crown.

Meanwhile, on the Facebook account of Raj, friends of her shown support and sympathy by posting comments and sharing words of comfort for her. On the latest shoutout of Raj, she says " I will not stop until I'm done..From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDYING SUPPORT...The deafening silence will surely echo a meaningful sound.." these words simply shows that Raj is a person of strength and being a silent fighter. Up to now, people continue to flood the site with support and love for her.

Back on the two appealing fan pages, supporters shouts to send email to the governing body of the Miss Universe. During the earlier days of this issue, people appeal to bring back the crown but now as it gets longer and longer, supporters wants to oust Stella Araneta as one of the local organizers of the pageant. " Why would she dethrone a beauty queen, when in fact she(Stella Araneta) is not a Filipino nor has Filipino blood. If nationality is the real issue here, therefore Stella should be oust!" from a fan of the site."BPCI should take no rights on the franchise of the Miss Universe pageant. The franchise should be transferred to a more responsible governing body with consistency on its rules and professionalism" on these phrases from a fan, he wants to take the franchise of the Miss Universe from the BPCI to another governing body.

The fans of Raj also seeks for a legal counsel for them to understand more about the issue and defend their beloved Maria Venus Raj. The fans of Raj are strong and really wants to fight for the rights of their idol. As  time goes by, undying support through Facebook and blogs are spread to make the campaign stronger and stronger..

Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Venus Raj Dethroned

In less than one month after being crowned Bb. Pilipinas-Universe, Maria Venus Raj Bayonito has been dethroned by the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. due to questionable birth records.

According to Bb. Pilipinas PR Manager Jenny Inocencio-Marcial, there were inconsistencies in Venus Raj’s birth certificate.

“Both Venus and her mother said she was born in Doha, Qatar, while yung na-submit nilang legal documents say she was born in the Philippines,” said Marcial.

The half-Indian half-Pinoy beauty was supposed to represent the Philippines in this year’s Miss Universe pageant in which she’s already one of the early favorites to win the crown. But due to the irregularities in her residency papers, Raj has been stripped off the title.

The Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. released a statement regarding this matter:

“Today March 29, 2010, Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go, after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth.”

According to the rules of Bb. Pilipinas, when one titleholder gets dethroned the first runner-up will replace her. But the 1st runner-up, Dianne Necio, is only 17 years old. The Miss Universe pageant’s age limit is 18 to 26 years old. In this line that the second runner-up winner, Helen Henson, will then fill the vacated position.

A similar incident happened last 1999 when Bb. Pilipinas-Universe winner Janelle Bautista was dethroned due to irregularities in her residency papers. Miriam Quiambao was asked to replaced her. Mirriam went on to become the 1st runner-up in Miss Universe that year.

Maria Venus Raj inherited the title from last year's winner Pamela Bianca Manalo in a glittering four-hour pageant at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The new beauty queen graduated cum laude with a degree in Communication Arts from Bicol University. She confirmed reports of her humble upbringing.
"Our house is in the middle of a farm in Bato, Camarines Sur. Walking on the borders of the rice paddies (pilapil) was my early training in walking on runways," the part-time model said in English and Filipino. She said that her family still lived on the same farm.
GMA 7 contract artist Krista Kleiner was proclaimed Binibining Pilipinas-International and named Best in Talent and Best in Swimsuit.
Czarina Catherine Gatbonton from Malolos, Bulacan, was the surprise winner of the Binibining Pilipinas-World title.
